Every few weeks an old song turns up again in short videos. This playlist collects sixteen of them from this fall, ordered by their dated entries in uDiscover Music’s running log of songs that trended in 2026, from early September to late October.
They’re a mixed crowd. There’s a Nat King Cole Trio recording that soundtracked pumpkin recipes, Etta James, Musical Youth’s reggae-pop “Pass the Dutchie,” and a run of late-2000s and early-2010s R&B and pop from Mariah Carey, Kelly Rowland, Ne-Yo and Jeremih. It ends with two songs from animated films, Sing and Shrek 2.
A few songs from the same weeks aren’t here on purpose: one revived by a presidential-run tease, two whose trends are AI-generated videos, and one built around a creator’s video about his mother. We wanted this to be about the music.
One more honest note. A trend log tells you a song was being used, not how many people actually listened, and this year’s streaming numbers have their own problems. These are songs people reached for this fall. That’s all we claim.
