This one is for the grown-ups: the costume reveal, the walk into the party, and the dancing after. (For the front porch and trick-or-treaters, there’s Halloween at the Front Door.)
It starts with the song behind this year’s big costume trend. People film a slow, dramatic walk toward the camera and end on the costume, set to Róisín Murphy’s 2005 “Ramalama (Bang Bang).” From there it mixes the Halloween sounds turning up in this year’s short videos (Lady Gaga’s “Bloody Mary,” the Cramps’ “Goo Goo Muck,” “Somebody’s Watching Me” into “Thriller,” “Spooky, Scary Skeletons”) with the party classics that never leave: “Ghostbusters,” “Dead Man’s Party,” “Time Warp,” “Monster Mash.”
Some of these trends use sped-up edits, remixes or a mashup. This playlist uses the original recordings, so you get the whole song.
Turn the lights down, turn the volume up, and make an entrance.
